Brush Plans New Skatepark

Brush, Colorado is located just east of Fort Morgan. The town is planning on constructing a new skatepark in 2012. Parks and Recreation Director, Lance Schwindt, will apply for a Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) grant in February with grant monies expected to be awarded in June. Construction of the facility, to be located at Pioneer Park at the corner of Mill Street and Hospital Road, is hoped to begin in July. See this link for more information.

Wheat Ridge Skatepark Update

Construction of the new Wheat Ridge Skatepark was delayed this fall, because of general contractor/site preparation issues, not because of the skatepark contractor. Construction is now set to begin in Spring of 2012 with anticipated completion by the end of May 2012. The park budget allows for a 10,000 – 12,000 square foot park with a variety of features. The skatepark was designed and will be constructed by Team Pain Skate Parks. The design is considered conceptual and was presented to the city and the public in April 2011. The new skatepark will be located in Discovery Park at the intersection of 38th Ave. and Kipling in Wheatridge.
