Arvada Skatepark Grand Opening June 2
The amazing new Arvada Skatepark has been open since early January, but a grand opening celebration is planned for June 2nd. There will be music, raffles, pro skaters and lots of fun. This event is free, but all proceeds from the raffles will benefit Grind for Life, which helps people with cancer.

Longmont Closes Two Skateparks
The city of Longmont has closed two of its skateparks due to dilapidation of prefabricated ramps. You can read about the closures at this link.
Since the City Council plans to review the city’s park system this weekend, CCPS has drafted a template letter you can use to express your support of upgrading the old skateparks to poured in place concrete construction. Click here for the letter. You can copy and paste (and edit with your own words) the text into Longmont’s City Council web form.
Leadville Skatepark Update
Leadville’s Huck Finn Skatepark project received a $25,000 from the El Pomar Foundation this week. This project is expected to break ground this summer. The next skatepark committee meeting is Monday, April 16, 2012 at 5:00pm at The Lake County Courthouse. Skatepark design, warming hut building design and grant updates will be covered. Evergreen RFP for Wulf Park – Includes Skatepark
Evergreen Park and Recreation District has released a RFP for a park design plan and construction documents for Wulf Park. A skatepark is included in the RFP. There is currently a prefab skatepark at the site. It is assumed that the skatepark work will be subbed out to a skatepark company.
An optional on-site pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 12 noon.
Proposals are due by 3:00 pm MST on Friday, March 30, 2012. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Skatepark Possibility in Pueblo
The city of Pueblo plans to revamp its El Centro del Quinto Sol Recreation Center. A skatepark has been discussed as being included in the planned improvements. Show Your Support for Planned Erie Skatepark
The Erie Board of Trustees will consider funding options for the planned skatepark tonight Tuesday, February 28 at 6:30pm at Board Room in Erie Town Hall, 645 Holbrook Street. This is likely to be the last chance to get the skatepark under construction this spring. If you would like to provide public comments at the meeting, your support is most welcomed. If you cannot make the meeting, email your support of this project to the Board members: bot@erieco.gov
Erie Skatepark Design Presentation February 14
The Erie Board of Trustees will be considering an updated design for the planned skatepark on Tuesday, February 14th at 6:30pm in the Board Room at Erie Town Hall, 645 Holbrook Street. Parks and Recreation will be seeking approval to move forward with the design. Show your needed support for the park project and to provide feedback on the design.
Monte Vista Skatepark RFP
Monte Vista has released a RFP for their planned skatepark at Montez Park. Proposals are due by March 1, 2012 at 2:00pm. The city has budgeted $455,000 in cash and in-kind services for the skatepark. Here is the RFP document.
Misiano Skateparks to Design/Build Buena Vista Skatepark
Misiano Skateparks has been awarded the contract to design and build the new Buena Vista Skatepark. This will be the company’s first skatepark in Colorado. The Buena Vista park will be 8,000 square feet. There is a design meeting planned with Misiano for Thursday, February 9th @ 6pm at the BV Community Center, which is located at 715 East Main Street in Buena Vista.
